Heritage Home Healthcare

Bringing Quality Care Home

Elizabeth (Liz) Trainor

Vice President and Founder

Liz founded Heritage with her husband Len in 1994. She oversees Quality Improvement Compliance and company policies and procedures. Liz has 26 years in home healthcare and hospice.

After graduation from nursing school, Liz’s first position was in orthopedics at Swedish Hospital in Washington. As a lover of travel and adventure, her next position took her to Saudi Arabia where she worked as a medical and surgical nurse. Following Saudi Arabia, Liz worked as a long-term care manager. From there, she was recruited into home healthcare in California where she focused on management and administration as a Supervisor, Director, Branch Manager and Administrator for ten years.

The concept of Heritage Home Healthcare and Hospice began in California in 1993. In 1994, Liz married Len Trainor and they relocated from California to New Mexico where Heritage became a reality. In the early days, Liz and Len worked as a “tag team” doing visits, scheduling/staffing, creating care plans, assuring quality and handling marketing.

Liz graduated from Washington State University in 1981 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and earned a Public Health Nurse Certificate in 1986. She is a life member of Sigma Theta Tau National Honor Society.

She has been actively involved with the United Way of New Mexico and has co-chaired Alexis De Toqueville Society. She has also been a board member of the Samaritan Counseling Center.

Liz loves being a mom to four children. She is also very involved with her children’s activities and schools. Liz has two dogs and enjoys sports, photography, traveling and hanging out with her family.
